Continuous casting and rolling process, are you using in your steel mill?
Nowadays, in the steel industry, the manufacturer from home and abroad has already adopts continuous casting technology. The surface temperature of continuous casting billet will reduce to 800 ℃ after the billet discharging from continuous casting machine. But the center temperature is about 1050℃. Due to low temperature for the billet surface, it can not be rolled directly. Users will send the billet to semi-workshop for future processing or put them into the holding furnace. The average temperature of these continuous casting billet is 925℃. If we increase the surface temperature inline, the temperature will increase from 925℃ to 1250 ℃. Then we can use rolling machine for rolling.
As the surface temperature of continuous casting billet is low while the center temperature is high. Induction heating is one way that surface heat first and conduct to the inside gradually. So using billet induction heating furnace to increase the heat of billet surface is the best way to save energy. Making full use of billet residual heat, the steel mill at abroad has achieved this process. Heating from 925 ℃ to 1250 ℃, it need 45KW-H/T. If the efficiency of induction heating is 70%, then the power consumption is 65KW/H.
Continuous billet induction heating furnace main features:
1. Induction heater: billet induction heating furnace is divided into preheating section, heating section and the soaking section.The steel ingot charged from inductor tail and go through three high temperature section and discharging from soaking section. The rollers between induction heater is made of 304 stainless steel and through water for cooling.
2, lining: Long life design, strong and durable with large pieces of refractory cement.
3.Heating mode:Induction heating technology, the heat will generate inside the billet. No preheating time, user can start the whole billet induction heating system within short time.
4.Equip with 12 pulse power supply and special customized transformer, there is very less harmonic pollution.
Continuous billet induction heating furnace daily maintenance
1. Frequently clear the dust inside the distribution cabinet, set up a special room for the inverter device, you must always pay attention to cleaning work to prevent insulation failure.
2. Regular inspection and maintenance of the power supply.
Regular inspection and fastening various parts of bolts, nuts, connectors and so on.
Regular inspection for the voltage, current to prevent failure.
3. Always check the load connection is intact, insulation is reliable. Frequently check the cooling waterway has problem of no water of water pressure shortage or not.
