Induction heat treatment is an efficient, clean and rapid metal thermal processing technology specially applied for ribbed steel bars. Based on the electromagnetic induction principle, high-frequency alternating current generates an eddy current inside the rebar surface, which rapidly heats the steel matrix within a short time. Combined with online water quenching and air tempering procedures, this process realizes continuous heat treatment on the rolling production line. Different from traditional furnace heating, induction heating features fast temperature rise, small thermal deformation and accurate heating zone control, which is widely used for high-strength rebar production in the metallurgical industry.

The process mainly relies on skin effect and proximity effect of electromagnetic induction. When the rebar passes through the induction coil, the current concentrates on the metal surface to form a high-temperature heating layer. After rapid quenching, a dense martensite hardening layer is formed on the rebar surface, while the core retains tough ferrite and pearlite structure. Subsequent self-tempering eliminates internal quenching stress. The integrated structure of hard surface and tough core significantly improves the tensile strength, yield strength and fatigue resistance of finished steel bars.

First, the heating speed is extremely fast, and the heating time is controlled within 1 to 3 seconds, which greatly improves production efficiency and saves floor space. Second, the energy utilization rate exceeds 85%, effectively reducing gas and coal consumption with low carbon emissions. Third, the temperature field is evenly distributed, avoiding overheating and oxidation defects. In addition, the induction production line supports real-time parameter adjustment, which can match different rebar diameters and strength grades to ensure stable product mechanical performance.
