Forever Electromechanical’s induction heat treatment machine reshapes pipe thermal processing
Pipe heat treatment is a critical step to adjust hardness, toughness and residual stress for oil, gas, pipeline and mechanical tubular workpieces. For a long time, many manufacturers rely on resistance furnaces for pipe annealing, normalizing and tempering. This type of equipment relies on radiant heating from resistance wires, which comes with obvious drawbacks. It requires long warm-up and holding time, consumes large amounts of electricity, and suffers poor temperature consistency along the pipe length. Slow heating also causes heavy surface oxidation. Besides, resistance furnaces usually occupy large space, are hard to connect with front and rear rolling or cutting stations, and cannot adapt well to frequent size changes of pipes, limiting production flexibility and raising overall operational costs.
pipe induction heat treatment machine

Different from external radiation heating of resistance furnaces, Forever Electromechanical pipe induction heat treatment production line works based on electromagnetic induction. Heat generates inside the pipe wall directly. The equipment supports segmented temperature control, with infrared sensors and closed-loop PLC system tracking real-time temperature. Operators can set independent parameters according to pipe material, wall thickness and technical requirements for annealing, tempering or quenching. The temperature difference along the pipe is kept within a narrow range. Uniform heat treatment helps pipes gain stable mechanical performance, avoiding local soft or hard zones that easily appear in resistance furnace processing.
Long high-temperature soaking in resistance furnaces inevitably forms thick oxide layers on pipe surfaces, which needs extra shot blasting or pickling to remove, bringing extra labor, material cost and pollution risks. Induction heating heats up rapidly and shortens high-temperature residence time greatly. Oxidation and decarburization are significantly reduced. The finished pipe keeps smoother surface, less scale, and fewer subsequent cleaning procedures. This advantage is highly valued by clients processing alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes and high-pressure pipeline tubes with strict surface standards.

Resistance furnaces keep consuming power continuously even during standby and heat preservation periods. Forever induction equipment only consumes energy during effective heating. It supports instant start and stop, no long preheating cycle. Power output adjusts automatically with line speed, cutting comprehensive power consumption remarkably. The compact structure can be docked with pipe feeding, straightening, flaw detection and cutting devices to build a continuous automatic production line. It supports quick switching among different pipe diameters and lengths, suitable for both mass production and small-batch customized orders. Maintenance is simpler as well; there is no fragile resistance wire to replace frequently.
Resistance furnaces often produce accumulated scale dust and need heavy heat insulation protection. Induction heat treatment creates no open flame, little dust and low heat radiation to the surrounding environment. The working temperature around the machine is much lower, improving workshop working conditions. It can be installed inline without large civil reconstruction for old factories. Forever Electromechanical provides on-site commissioning, remote diagnosis and customized coil design for global pipe manufacturers.

With stricter requirements on energy consumption, product consistency and environmental management, continuous bar quenching and tempering line are replacing resistance furnaces in more pipe workshops. Forever Electromechanical keeps optimizing IGBT power supply, coil design and intelligent monitoring system, helping tubular component manufacturers achieve stable heat treatment, lower operating cost and stronger product competitiveness.
